sister (a.k.a. aunt law-rahhhh) time

So, my sister was in town all last week, and boy did we party!!! We hung out everyday and did quite a lot of eating! I had 2 really tired babies by the end of the week, and they had one tired momma, but we had a great time! We're already gearing up for a week at the beach in September with Law-rah, David, and Bud!!!

I'm telling you that we ate and ate last week. Here we are outside of Carabbas- one of Law-rah's favorites that they don't have in CA

check out that body (the one of merrill below, not the one above! ha)

emery eating fudge pie- Susu treated us to a very yummy lunch one day (I'm telling you we ate and ate!)

meet sophie. My brother has been dogsitting for her this summer. She licked emery &merrill so much that em nicknamed her 'tongue" all by herself. She's been asking where she was this week.

craft time & in the background merrill just had her first bite of cream of wheat (gross!)

we had just watched laura's wedding on dvd, we all teared up (Laura brought them matching I heart L.A. shirts)

I'm nominating myself for idiot of the week for this....

If you didn't notice anything, I mis-spelled my last name. I was soooo excited about this lunch box. I saw one similar on another blog and just had to have one for em. I've carried a dinky little plastic thing the last 2 years so I was so ready for something easier and cuter to carry this fall. I started sweating when I opened it up and saw what I had done!! Why didn't I double check myself? Stupid, stupid. It is fixable though- don't worry!

visitor, 7 months & a country boy

My sister is in town from Cali- we are doing nothing but eating and being lazy this week! Pictures to come!

It's hard to believe that Merrill is 7 months old.... This is not the best picture considering there is a naked barbie in it, but isn't somebody or something naked in all of our pictures? She is such a sweet, cuddly baby.

I just liked her expression in this picture

This is a picture for Jim. He walked in the den the other day and Emery said, "mommy, look at daddy!" He was wearing these lovely tan coveralls with no shirt underneath. The boy thinks he belongs on a farm!! Unfortunately for him, I do not! It cracks me up that he's a "country boy" from Atlanta!! Thank you Jim for working so hard for this family, including doing our yardwork- even in your coveralls!
And one Em story. She is into barbies these days. This morning she was looking at Hani (not sure the correct spelling of that made up name) and said in a squeaky, mommy voice, "You are so cute. I wish I had my camera!" Wonder where she hears that?

Firefighters to the rescue

I love the Books from Birth program that TN has. In fact, I'm thinking that most states have a similar program too! One of the more recent books Emery has gotten was a book titled "Firefighters to the Rescue" Well, last night we saw some firefighters in action!

Both girls have been sick again (love summer sickness!) and we stayed in all day yesterday. So, last night I needed out! We headed to our favorite patio place, McDougals. We ran into friends and enjoyed some good food. Suddenly the door to the inside of the restaurant was slung open and a guy was asking for a doctor- a little boy inside was choking!! Okay, so I'm not sure of the exact time, but it felt like 30 minutes that this little boy seemed to be stuggling. All of the mommas around me were teary eyed and stood with their hands covering our mouths. Jim was ready to jump out of his skin and even got testy with me because I really didn't know what to do to help. . The firetrucks and ambulance arrived and ran in and by the time they got there the boy was breathing but was very lethargic. They headed straight to the hospital. I heard someone else say that it was between 4-5 minutes that the little guy couldn't breathe. I have prayed constantly today that the little boy is okay. I've also spent time making sure I know how to react in case that is ever one of mine! So scary!

And on a sidenote, while all of this is going on, "Emery is saying repeatedly, firefighters to the rescue!" At least I know she is listening when I read to her.....

outside, the 4th, & kenny chesney (minus the kenny for me)

Well, I oughta be fish slapped like in those Captain D's commercials for leaving that last post up so long! Merrill wasn't feeling great (102+ fevers) so we stayed home almost every day last week. Emery loved it- a homebody just like daddy! I never posted about Emery's swingset she got for her birthday. We spend quite a lot of time in the backyard now. And boy does some personality come out of Emery back there...bossy,bossy! merrill enjoys watching her play

telling me to come here!

I wish it was cute when/if I did this

playing ho,ho,ho as she calls it. i'm thinking this game should be renamed

oh this is very exciting to me- both of these girls will eat rice cakes. This makes 6 things our oldest daughter will eat now!!! I thinking the next item will have to be a fruit or vegtable??

naked rice caking

emery has found a new use for the nets that came with her "elefun" game

the only picture that was worth posting from our fun pool party at the churchs' on th 4th

a little naked sparkling

our lady liberty

a little soy ice cream in a tapioca cone. I was surprised emery ate it. I truly can'y imagine what it would be like to have an allergy baby!

Jim and I at the Kenny Chesney concert. We got to the concert at 3 in the afternoon. At 9 we had still not heard Kenny, and I had called and checked on the girls 4 times. The last time I could hear merrill crying. This was one of the longest times we had been apart. Some of you that nurse can see what a "problem" this could have presented. So, my sweet parents loaded up the girls and came and got me and then dropped us off at the house. Jim enjoyed the rest of the concert solo!! I feel kind of sorry for Jim... We really try to still do fun things together! But, I honestly find myself not being able to relax and enjoy myself. We're just in mommy/daddy mode!! I really don't know what to do when I'm not feeding, changing, coloring, disciplining, bathing, etc. My hands don't know what to do when they aren't carrying a bag, a baby, or sippy cup, so I picked my nails some! Overall, a very fun day! See if you can guess the whose in the picures... I just realized I left off Keith urban- the new papa!

Help!!

I went to high school with several of you reading this! I'm helping Martha Lynn collect email addresses so that we can get info out about our high school reunion. If you would, go to the new link to the right (www.dlhsclassof1998.blogspot.com) and give us your email address. Also, I don't have a facebook/myspace page. Rumor has it that there are several of us 1998-ers out there! So someone tell them!
