California

We had a great time in California! Good weather, good food, and most importantly, good company. Lots of pictures on here.... probably too many! I didn't even have my camera with me the whole time, but still managed to document our trip pretty well. I've asked Emery what her favorite parts of California were... in this order
1. Bacon (my sister's dog)
2. bus ride we took on the santa monica public transportation
3. riding on uncle david's shoulders
4. the seals

All of the things that were free!!! I love it....

Of course we couldn't have a drama-free trip. Emery had an ear issues and I'll save everyone from all the details, but after some screaming, antibiotics and motrin, one vomiting spell in uncle david's car... we were good to go. (update on ears....went to the doctor yesterday and the ear that was infected was looking better, but the other eardrum actually ruptured...my poor baby) getting ready to board the plane leaving nashville

Emery feeling a little better..... She was such a good little traveler. I am SO, SO glad that we got to take this trip together!!Emery and I rode in the back seat together a lot and she would hold my hand and occasionly whisper, "I love you!" One on one time does everybody some good! A huge thanks to Jim who held the fort down here, and who says Merrill never cried or whined once with him. (whatever Jim, I don't believe you!!!) And, also to my mom who watched Merrill while Jim was at work! Thank you!!!

California, here we come!

We've been packing for California this week. We leave tomorrow afternoon and we're both so excited! Emery feels the need to share the news about her trip with everyone- including the checkout lady at Publix! I took her to Target today and she picked out a couple of things for the plane ride from the dollar section. She was so excited to put her new little things in her backpack! I am getting a little anxious about the plane ride, not about emery, but me!! Four hours is a long time for a mommy to have to sit still!! We had lunch today with one of my best friends! She surprised me with this adorable beach towel! I love little surprises that like!! Thank you Heather!!

And one thing that I do even drives me crazy.... I start trying to mark things off my to-do list whenever I am leaving town. I started these outfits for the girls months ago. There was some stuff that I wasn't sure how to do, so I stopped for awhile. Well, I finished them last night!!! I am not even sure they are going to fit and I'm sick of looking at the fabric already. But, hey... they're done!

Holiday World and some other things....

So, I am feeling pretty lucky that I don't have that much to blog about, which means that we are doing nothing but playing this summer, which also means that my picture choices are pretty slim to none! We hit the pool a couple of times last week, and I was thinking that there was a possibility that I might get a tan this summer. Well, wrong!!! Both girls came down with a cold, so this week we have been doing some more non-social things instead of the pool. What sun I had is already gone! I don't like having to miss out on a sunny pool day because of a cold.... It just doesn't seem right when it is hot outside!

The Friday before Memorial day we spontaneously decided to jump in the car and head to Holiday world. I am not a huge 'theme-park' person for several reasons, but we had a blast!! Emery got brave just as it was time to leave, so we'll have to go back again.
Not an exciting picture, I know. But, the park did have so much for Emery's age. We weren't able to fit everything in!

a visit with Santa.... Holiday world is in Santa Claus, Indiana so I guess Santa is there all the time????

I liked how Jim was holding merrill here. He's not a fan of cold water and I guess Merrill was wet!

Took our big 4 year old for her check up yesterday. She weighed in at 32 pounds, and 39 inches tall. The best news of all, besides she is very healthy, is we can stop doing Pulmicort every day! If you are not familiar with it.... it's super expensive!!! We are so excited. It was for her breathing issues and since she's done so well for almost a year, we're going to see what happens without it!

One morning we walked up to the playground behind a local school and Emery met a friend and played so hard.

Not sure why, but both of our girls have always liked our bed better than theirs! Naptime these days is pretty predictable. But, for some reason one day last week, they both ended up in our bed! But, hey at least I got "my" free time!

Well, if I don't blog again in the next couple of days, it's because I'm packing!!! Emery and I are headed to L.A. to visit with my sister and brother-in-law next week. Just the two of us! We're so excited!
